The Wairar apa Caledonian Societyis to be congratulated upon the success wllich annual gathering in the Public Park on Monday: The weather was aU that could be desired, the attendance constituted almost a record for the Society, tileicrowd was well-controlled, and the arrangements were in every respect perfect. The well-kept reserve never looked better than it did yesterday, and everybody was pleased with the outing. The Society, which lias,. of late years, had a hard struggle for existence, has turned the corner, and, with careful management, it will assume that •pride; of position- among* local insti-; tutions which, is its-by; fight, and title! - X :
