EAST COAST SPORTS.
, The East Coast Sports Club held 'their nineteenth annual meeting at Homewood yesterday, and they proved a decided success from every point of view. There was a large attendance of visitors from all parts of the district, Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P., being amongst those present. There was keen competition in all the events, and some exciting finishes were witnessed. The Hunters Competition was carried off by Mr Bert Rear don on one of Mr Eupert Morrison's mounts, and Mr N. Douglas annexed the Maiden Hunters' Competition. The East Coast Handicap was won by Mr T. Taylor, who secured the most points in the foot and field events. Mr A. Jensen was also a most successful competitor. In the 'guessing competition, combined weight of two sheep, the correct weight, 1121bs, was supplied by Master Jeffrey Meredith (Waironga), whilst six competitors divided for second place. _______
