RIFLE SHOOTING.

The Alfrodton Rifle Club fired the first cup trophy and shoot of the season on Monday last, when five riflemen tied for Messrs Herbert and Co.'s trophy. L. Percy was successful hi the shoot off. Following are the scores.

Tho first five riflemen secured the handicap limit (93 points.) Tho Eketahunry Mounted Rifles journeyed to Alfrcdton on Tuesday last, and suffered defeat at the hands of the Alfrcdton Rifle by the narrow margin of ten points. Shooting was- somewhat difficult at the 600 yards range. Both teams have now a win to their, credit—strange to say, both by , ton points—and a third match will be arranged later in the season.
