THE NEXT SESSION.
Sir Joseph Ward, interviewed in Auckland, stated that two months should suffice for all the legislation ''required" to be passed next session. Presumably, therefore, land legislation and local government reform are not required. A comprehensive measure, dealing with either of these subjects, would occupy the House for at least a month. When the address-in-reply, and financial debate, and public works debate (if there, should be any), and the. talks to the constituents are finished, there will not be much time for such unconsidered trifles as land or local government.
