BOY IMMIGRANTS.

Mr Sargood, of ihe firm of Sargood, Son and Ewen, who lias just returned from England, has made a proposal to the Colonial Institute for sending youths to the colonies, placing them on farms.for a term of five or seven years, and capitalising their labour, so that they would be able to take up land on finishing their training. The proposal is a really £ood one; but in the present state of our labour laws it would be found impracticable. The law will not permit the capitalization of wages, nor will it allow youths to apprentice themselves.to farming under reasonable conditions. The matter is one which deserves consideration from the Government.
