MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The usual monthly meeting of the Council was held on Thursday, the 22nd inst. Present,—Crs F. \V. H. Kummcr (chairman), C. Forsberg, O. Isakson, and H. J. Dagg. Letters apologising for being unable to attend were rec.-ivc-d from Crs Jackson and Perry. The Chief Health Officer wrote stating that a conference of local authorities to deal wih the appointment- of a Sanitary Inspector would not now be held, and thai further information would shortly bo forwarded. The Commissioner of Crown Lauds forwarded forms for indicating how thirds are to be expended. The Eketalnina County Clerk notified the adoption by his Council of resolutions (re division of timber traffic license fees) passed at the conference held on the 20th November. The Castlepoint County Council acknowledged receipt of letter of condolence re their late clerk's death. It was resolved to renew v.. Kranzon's contracts for maintenance of Maurieeville West and South roads for another period of twelve months. Instructions were given to procure a quantity of Carson's anticorrosive paint, and proceed with the re-painting of bridges. The resolutions passed at the conference re timber traffic licenses were adopted and confirmed. Accounts amounting to £ISD Is lOd were passed for payment. ■ The next ordinary meeting will be held on the last Saturday of January,. 1911.
