HIS MONEY DEMANDS. SOME SWEEPING STATEMENTS.' deceived Last Night, 8.55 o'clock. SYDNEY,. December 15 Files of the London "Sportsman" contains some sweeping "statements by Guy Nickalls concerning "Dick" Arnst demanding £4OO instead of £3UU expenses in connection with the Zambesi race. Nickalls declares thatjArnst threatened to throw up the "race unless his demand was conceded. He, Nickalls, was placed in a difficult position, and eventually gave Arnst his personal cheque for the £IOO claimed. Owing to Arri9t action, there was likely to be a deficitof £SO wnich the guarantors would have to make good. Arnst and Floyd, who were interviewed, denied a number of Nickall's statements. Artist said: "They cannot take, a beating like sports- , men." The reason lie had demanded the extra £IOO wad that he thought he was to get a share of the gate money and the sole right for moving pictures, but he got nothing out of the gates, and had to share the picture money with Barry. FJeJ was also .charged "for, accommodation, though he had understood that he was to have been the guest of the Chartered Company.
