HOME FOR INCURABLES.
MR BUCHANAN'S OFFER. DETAILED AkuANGEMENTS. The Sub-committee appointed by the Wairarapa Hospital and Charit£b!e Aid Board to confer with Mr W. U. Buchanan, M.P., and Dr. Valintine, Inspector-General of Hospitals, in connection with the erection of a Home for lncuraoles on the Greytown Hospital site, met at the Greytown Hospital yesterday morning. There were present—Messrs ..W. C. Buchanan, M.P., Dr Valintine, E.G. Eton, (Chairman of the Board),. W. Moore, Cartenoh, J. C. ft wing ton, H. Morrison, Dr. Bey, A. L. Webster, secretary to the local Committee, an J Mr N. D, Hunting, secretary of the Board. Mr Ruchanan explained his views in connection with the proposal, stating that he would rely on the responsible parties concerned to make full provision for the requirements of the district.
Dr. Valjuline, in the course of his remarks, stated that the Board had now the opportunity of erecting something in the way of a model nature, and recommended the engagement of an architect possessing experience in regard to Hospital requirements.
After considerable discussion the Committee selected - essrs Atkina and Bacon, of Vvellington, as the architects for the projected building. 'lhe architects will visit the site and prepare plans for i:he erection of the building, after which they will ; meet the Board s Sub-committee on the grounds. At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr .Eton, on befaaif of the Board, thanked Mr Buchanan for his generous gift, and Dr. Valintine for bis attendance at the conference.
