BOWLING TIT-BITS.

(By Jack.) I would remind members that entries close with the Mr E. Prfgnell, of the 10-jal Club on Saturday next, in connection with the Tournament to be held a<; Auckland next month. At the present time it seems that only two teams have definitely made up their minds to enter, but it is quite on the cards *bat several other rimes will be entering. Mr K. Rigg, a membei of the Masterton Club, has been renewing acquaintance with his friends on the ■green, It is on the cards that ne wil join one of the rinks for Auckland. A match between the "Buckle" holders, skipped by Townsend, and a team of challengers, comprising Prentice, Dupre, Rose and 0. Prague]!, was played and resulted in a win for the challengers by five points, after a good game. The.first round in all the Club competitions ha 3 now been completed, and the second round must be finished by the ead of this month. The Selection Committee is wise in getting the matches through early in the season, as it will enable the finals to be played before the autumn, when the greens become heavy. The "Doubles" matches have provoked some very fine contests, as the following scores denote:—Dickenson and Town3end (4). 27 v. Hughes and Carpenter (6) 25; Feist a>id Reynolds (7) 28 v. Price and Blink'horne (10) 27; Boagey and Inder (8) 23 v. E. Pragnell and J. Hunter (sj. 22; A. Pragnell and J. Prentice (8) 31 v. A. W. Cave and 0. Pragnell (7) 30; W. M. Cole and Guild (4) 27 v. Haughey and Cresswell (4) 19; Murray and Perry (8) 28 v. Harrison and Richards (6) 19; Hendry and Chapman (10) 6 v. Mutrie and Rose (6) 20; Moss and Reed (8) 32 v. Lamb and Fowler (10) 18. Championship "Singles" resulted as follows:—-Townsend 20 v. Cave 19; H. Bealel8;v. Reed 16; Lawrence 24 v. Wilkes 8; Robieson 19 v. Haughey 15; W. M. Cole 16 v. Boagey 13; J. Prentice 24 v. J. hunter 10; A. W. Chapman 21 v. J. Blinkhorne 14.

Last Thursday and Saturday provided some interesting rink games as follows: Prentice, Inder, Dupre, 19 v. Mutpie, J. Brown, Carpenter 18; Mcßae, Wirgate,- Guild, 21 v. Moss, Cave, Chamberlain 17; Reynolds, Chapman, Harrison, Whittaker 20 v. Carpenter, Smith, Guild, Townsend 14; Robieson, Blinkhorne, Prentice, W. Pragnell 28 v. Mutrie, Wingate, Gordon, Hictoards 11; Dupre, Lave, Fowler, O. Pragnellj 18 v. Ewington, Mcßae, Kigg and Rose 13. .

Masterton and Greytown meet on Thursday at Masterton to contest for supremacy in connection with the Booth Cup. A good game should result, as the Greytown players are doing well this season, and should prove opponents of no mean order.
