SIR WILFRID LAURIER.
AND THE BRII'ISO CAMPAIGN. Received Last Night, 10.20 o'clock. LONDON, December 14. Mr lan Malcolm, at one time Private Secretary to the Chief Secretary, is stated to have cabled Sir Wilfrid Laurier, asking whether he thought he was subscribing to a separation scheme or to federation on Canadian lines. Sir Wilfrid Laurier replied that in the heat of the campaign he did not lijte to say anything seeming, like an interference. He added: "T notice my name has been used in such a way that 1 must protest my strong desire to have it kepi out of'the contest."
