(By "Zetland.") i Kopu has been taken up to Auck land to get used to the right-handed going a'; Ellerslie. Mr E, J. Wati's team for Auckland, consisting of Bridge, Theodore, Maori King; Winning Post and Midnight Sun, left Hawke's Bay for the North yesterday. When running in the principal event at Woodville on Thursday, Moloch broke a blood vessel and was pulled up. The Mauser gelding will probably*have to be spelled. Mr J. H. Prosser's horses that are being sent through to Auckland today are Diabolo, Gipsy Belle, Dearest, Swimming Belt and Tauira. Roosevelt was very sore after racing at Feilding. It is thought that the JMenschikoff horse should be kept until the autumn, when the tracks become tof ter. Tribulation was brought up from Canterbury last week and taken to his owner's stables at Koto-tawai. He is still lame from the effects to the fetlock injury received at Kiccarton. Among the horses seen out at the Woodville meeting were several which may be expected to show to advantage when their racing condi* tion becomes more solid. Among the members were Onslo-v Park, by Kilcheran—Lady d'Eau; Allurement, by Soult—lnamorata; Sir Knox, by h'ir Laddo—St. Leger mare; Singer, by Advance—Sing Song; Bunkum, by Merriwee—Flutter; Sen Pluie, by San Fran—Rain; Serenity, by Handsome Jack —Luke Placid; Melalogue, by Advance—Epilogue; Dogfish, by Knight Errant-—Sunfish; Seaweed, by Captain Webb—Wild Daisy; Wild Lupin, by Lupin—Silver Agnes; and Fionacre, by Tupahi —Fiona. The Masterton-trained Prince Hassan ran rather disappointingly at Wccdville this week. - The'eqmpany he met "was of rather a good class, and the Saracen gelidng was somewhat at a disadvantage in not having raced lately. Provocation is to race in the Manawatu Stakes, and*wiU then be taken on;to Auckland to- contest the Koyal . ' gtakes. \ ihe Wairaiapa horses engaged oa
the iirst day of the" Manawalu meeting are—Full Bate, Mataari, A and Splash, The Boyal Fusilier colt, Warsong, recently sold by Mr T. H. Lowry to Mr E. Lonergan for about 2CU guineas, won £IOO in stakes at Woodville, and as his owner supported him strongly he has already received more than he paid for the horse,. Warsong should prove capable of winning a fair number of races during the season.
