WOODVILLE RACES.
SECOND DAY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WOODVILLE, Last Night The Woodville summer rneeting concluded to-day. The leather was again glorious, and the attendance large. Ten 1 bookmakers took out licenses and seemed to do good business. The sum of! £5519 was put through the totalisator, which was £IOO than the corresponding day last year, and making £11,628 for the meeting. With the exception of the first race to-day, when Merry Frank, Vibration, Leahcra and Embrocation fell, the meeting passed off without any other acci-
dent. Luckily the jockeys were not hurt. With the exception of the Isst race, the starting of Mr C. o',Connor was perfect. Results:— Stewards' Hack, 6 furlongs.— Lord Possible 1, British Maid 2, Succession 3. Also ran —Vibration, Longwoocl, Leahora, Turna, Merrie Frank, Embrocation. When two furongs had been negotiated Leahora stumbled and fell, and she brought down Vibration, Merrie Frank, ~ and Embrocation. The horses all got up
and raced on without their riders. Won by a neck, lime, Imin 16 4-ssec. Burdles, 31 mile. —Eiya 1, Captain 2, Millenial 3. Also ran—Appin, Chasemab, The Spaniard, Seaworthy, All Trumps. Seaworthy lost her rider at the first fence. Won comfortably. Time, 2mih 50 l-ssec. Ruahine Welter.—The Rover 1, San Lass 2, Allurement 3. Also ran—Fatrobus, Composed, Contour, Kilsyth, Rangikapuo,- Stevens, Te Whetu, Prince Hassan. Won by two lengths, lime, lmin 29 45 sec. Summer Handicap, 1 mile and a distance. Highden 1, Goodwin Park 2. Mataavi 3 Also ran—Moloch, Notorious, Separator, Splash, First Battery. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 58 15 sec. In this race Notorious, who was in the leading division and running well, broke his fetlock, and Moloch at the same time broke a blood-vessel. Notorious had to be shot. ' Telegraph Hack. —Deploy 1, Magneto 2, Lady Moutoa 3. Also ran— British Maid, Rongomai, Kiltie Lapp,
Ultimatum. Won easily by three lengths. Time, laiin 0 4 ssec. Railway Handicap, 5 furlongs.— Warsong 1, Naumai 2, Merchantman 3. All started. Won by a length. 'Jime, Imin lsec. Scurry.—Soultiform 1, Wild Lupin 2, San Pluie 3. lime, lmin 1 4-ssec. High-weight, 1 mile. - Waipunui 1, Idealism 2, Ariom 3. Also started —First Consul, Mataari, Cold Battery, Lamsdorff, Toanga, Shannon Lass, Miss Advance, Passive, Niwaru, Burton, Vite, Queen of Scots, Shannon Lass. Won by half a length.
