FARES AND FREIGHTS ON STEAMERS.
DUNEDIN, Last Night. So far as the Union Company boats are concerned, passenger fares or freights are unlikely to be increased at present. The Company and the Merchant Service Guild work under an agreement, wliich, however, runs out in August next. The Arbitration Court award made in Australia applies, however, to the Red Funnel boats running between Australia and Tasmania, and the fares and freights between those places will probably have to be considered immediately.
