COLLISION ON A RAILWAY. ONE PAsSENUBK KILLED. deceived December 6, 10 a.m. LONDON. December 5. A railway collision occurred at Willesden Junction, near London. A fast tram cra?hed into a slow train from Wat-.rford. One of the passenger.i was kill I and thirty seriously injured. HOW THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED. Received last Nigh", 11 o'clock. LONDON, December 6. The accident was due to a question regarding the signal?. I'ne first train wad detained and the tickets were being examined, when the accident happened. 'J he other train should have been signalled to stop till the line was clear. The driver declares that there was ho signal given, and a curve in the line prevented him seeing the stationary train until too late. He applied the brakes in the quickest possible time. The consensus of newspaper opinion is that in view of the enormous number of trains leaving and arriving in London every day, the accident will create a very unfavourable impression. ANOTHER DK4TH.
