PRACTICAL FARM TRAINING.
Tho proposal that has for some time been entertained to take young men and youths on to experimental farms for practical training will shortly come into being with improved conditions. The building at Ruakura for accommodating these young men is erected and will be early in readiness for their reception. During tho past three years from five to seven young men have been at Ruakura, living under somewhat rough conditions, taking their place at all farm-work Some have now gone on to farms of their own, some are in situations, mid some are at home. They all express themselves as satisfied and pleased with their time at this farm. It is assured that, with _ the miproved conditions that will apply, associated with the simple course of reading and lectures, farm training at the experimental farms will be | one of the most useful undertakings of the Department of Agriculture.
