EKETAHUNA-SHANNON ROAD.
A sum of £l5O was placed upon the Supplementary Estmates and passed by the House on Saturday for the Eketahuna to Shannon road. This important connection between the East and West Coasts, of ,the North Island has been promised by successive Ministers for years past. Small sums of money have been voted from time to time to pay for surveys, etc., but the road, or track, appears to be almost as far off as ever.. The question is one which affects the whole of the East Coast district between Pahiatua and: Featherston: A stock, track between the two Coasts, mid.wsvy' between the Woodville Gorge and the Rimutaka, is badly required, and it behoves settlers on both sides to vigorously agitate until the conh rondo.
