__— ♦_ — LEADING SOUTH-AFRICA. Received Last Night,T£.s oc!oc'i. DURBAN,' December 3. Ihe Duke and Duchess of Connaught arrived at Maritzburg on Thursday. The;- receive! addresses, 'and were entertained at luncheon in tie lown Hall, two hundred ["guests being present. 'J he Duke laid the foundation stone of f.he Natal University College, and a Mayoral garden party was held in the afternoon. The Royal party reached Durban on Friday, and were given a splendid welcome. A gathering of 3500 assembled in the Town Hall. His Royal Highness the Duke of Connaught paid a tribute to the municipal enterprise of South Afiica, and also the loyalty everywhere manifested. Later in the day he received the Durban Light Infantry, of which he is Colonel-in-Chief. The .party sailed to-da; • by the Balmoral foi England.
