WAERENGA FRUIT FARM.
The Government has wisely decided to dispose of the Waerenga fruit farm. Under State control it has an expensive, luxury; but there is no reason why, if cut up into suitably-sized areas, it should not be successfully farmed by private individuals. The success which has attended the Frimley Orchards, in Hawke'is Bay, is evidence that fruit-farming, if carried out on the right lines, can be made to pay. The application of the freehold principle to these farms is right and proper.
