DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE.

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night, At the inquest on the body of Thomas Mitchell, who died suddenly on the Opawa tram last night, the police report stated that the deceaswas believed to be a broker of Elliott Street, Auckland, but very little was known of him in Christchurch. He had only been in the city two or three days. Claude Ferrier stated that he had knoivn the deceased for over twenty years. Yesterday he appeared to be in excellent spirits and health. Witness had never heard liim. complain of being ill. Medical evidence was given by Dr Symes, who had made a postmortem examination. He found the heart greatly enlarged and fatty. All the valves were more or less diseased. The deceased presented the usual signs of death from heart disease. The coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony.
