MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS BILL.
■ ♦— A SURKENDER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. In the House of Representatives to-night the Municipal Corporations Act,-which the. Prime Minister had intimated would te dropped owing to a clause being inserted making the Government subject to municjpal by-laws, was recommitted. Mr Wilford expressed regret that the Government would not accept the amendment. Under the cu'cum* stances, he would drop the clause rather than endanger the Bill. The clause was deleted.
