STORM IN WEST Li ALI A. ENORMOUS DAMAGE. Received November 24, 8.50 a.m. SYDNEY, November 24. The storm at Broome, Western Australia, winch was described as a series of "willy willies," was the worst on record. It commenced on Friday, and raged throughout Saturday with great violence. The estimate of the damage done ashore is J20,000, besides damage to buildings. Trees, fences, telegraph and telephone poles were levelled in all direc--1 tions. About seventy luggers and others small craft are piled on the beach. Many are damaged beyond repair. Thirty or forty others sank at their moorings, and grave feari are en tertained regarding seventy or eighty unaccounted for, though it is hoped that a proportion, at least, sought refuge in the creeks along the coast. Rescue parties are out searching. So far as is known, twelve lives have been lo3t, including those of two whites named Farrell and ! Street.
