Messrs Dainty and Company, Li initod, report having received cable advice from their London house, under date 17th instant, reading as follows : 1-rozen Meat.—Mutton, Australian, is id to jjd lower. Beef, -J-cl to -]d higher. For frozen meat in general there is a limited demand.
PONGAROA STOCK SALE
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: We had a real good yarding of both sheep and cattle, which met a ready sale, all lines being cleared at full market rates, young cattle and shorn sheep being especially in keen demand. The' attendance of farmers was as usual a large one. Quotations:Woolly drv ewes, 14s: shorn wether hoo-gets, 10s Gd: small wether hog7s 8tl; 4-tooth shorn, ewes (small), H« Gd; forward shorn sheep, 9s 5d to lis 2d; dairy heifers, £5 to £0 ;2-year empty heifers, £3 4s to £!? 10s; yearling and 15month heifers, £2 15s Gd; yearling ■steers. £2 6s to £2 19s ; small steers, 37s Gd;'lS-month steers, £.3 13s; bulls, to £4 4s.
