LAWN TENNIS.

MASTERTON CLUB

A meeting of the Committee of the above Club was held in Messrs Levin and Co.s' offices on Wednesday evening, at 5.30 o'clock. Thsre were present -Rev,/ Dean McKenna (President) in the chair. and' Messrs J. B. Moodie, N. H. Jarnen, H. M. Roddington, D. Caselberg, N. D. Bunt ing, and the secretary, Mr A. K. Sclanders.

A letter was received by the secretary from the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association granting the application of the Mastertoti Lawn Tennis Club for the Provincial Championships to be held in Masterton on Anniversary Day and following days. It was decided, on the motion of Mr J. B. Moodie, seconded by Mr N. D. Bunting, that the Provincial Tournament' be played at Masterton on the 2l£t, 23rd and 24th January, 1911, cr if more satisfactory to the Wellington players, on 23rd, 24th, and 25th January, 1911. It la anticipated that there will he seven court* available for the purposes of this tournament.

Ihe following programme was considered by the Committee, and it was decided to submit the same to Wellington for the approval of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association

Men's Championship Singles—Best of three sets. Winner to hold Association's Challenge Cup; also taking the President's trophy, £2 2s; run-ner-up, trophy value 15s. Men's Championship Doubles Best of three sets; trophies, £1 Is each.

Ladies' Championship SinglesBest of three sets. Winner to hold Association's Challenge Cup and also take the President's trophy, value £2 2s; runner-up, trophy value 15s. Ladies' Championship DoublesBest of three sets. Trophies value •21 Is each.

Combined Championship DoublesBest of three sets, Trophies value £1 Is each.

Men'a Handicap Singles, first and second grade?, 70 points. Trophies value £1 1 Us, and runner-up 153 in each grade. Handicap Doubles, fh'st and second grades, 70 points. Trophies value £1 Is each in each grade.

Ladies' Handicap Singles, 50 pointe. Trophy value £1 Is; run-ner-up 10s 6d.jj Combined Handicap Doubles, 50 points. Trophies value £1 Is each. Ladies' Handicap Doubles 50 point?. Trophies value £1 Is each. It was also decided to play all championship events, advantage sets, and all handicap events advantage points. 'lrophies amounting to approximately ten guineas were subscribed in the room.
