CARTERTON.

Already some -fV,S 3s has been banked to the credit of the local public swimming bath fund. The executive has decided to build the wall round the baths of concrete, and to have the bottom of the bath graded

from three foot to seven foot. The shallow end is to extend for 25ft, and be fenced off with ropes or other means from the deeper portion to ensure safety for children. It is probable that the bottom of the bath will be bricked with material given by the Brick and Tile Company, the space between the bricks being filled with cement.

Corporal Dudson, of the local Territorials, has been transferred to No. 1 section, and Private. R. Reid has been appointed corporal.
