Mr Robert James Stark, a wellknown bookseller of Dunedm, •« dead. Mrs Mackintosh, who was accidenally shot in the shoulder by her husband at Wellington the other day, was a former resident of Masterton.

Sir Clifton Robinson, managing director of the London United Electric Tramways, died in a Now York

street car. The death is .reported from Mauriwville of Mrs Farmer, relict of the late Mr G. Farmer, who died m the Masterton Hospital' recently.

Councillor J. P. Prentice, who was present at last night's meeting of the Masterton Bovough Council, •*. thanked the Council for its courtesy * in having granted him extended leave of absence. His Worship the Mayor said the Council was pleased to see Councillor Prentice back in his seat, much restored in health.
