LUNATIC ASYLUM -BURNT DOWN PATIENTS LIBERATED IN A SNOWSTORM. SEVERAL LIVES LOST. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) VANCOUVER, November 5. The lunatic asylum has been destroyed by fire. Six hundred natients were released. A snowstorm was raging at the time. Several of the patients are believed to have perished. Most of the remainder are safe. The loss is estimated at £IOO,OOO. The conflagration was due to patients playing with matches.
