Awha, one of the horses that fell in the last event at the Masterton meeting oil Saturday. is again at work, and will be competing at the Taratahi-Carterion meeting. Mahutonga is in training at Gisborne, and will be schooled over hurdles. Toanga may not be seen out at the Taratahi-Carterton meeting, as he has been eased in his work. The latest additions to A. Attwood's Feilding team are St. Lumsden aud Maliuta. Several Masterton sportsmen are making the trip to Christchurch to see the New Zealand Cap run on Saturday. Very little change has taken place this week in the favouritism for the Now Zealand Cup, but Los Angelos and Diabolo have shortened in the betting, while Bridge, Ingoda, and Oiyoi are holding their positions. It is expected that there will be fourteen starters in the big event of the year. The ordinary work at Riccarton on Tuesday morning was interesting. Cullman ran the first four of ten furlongs in 50 2-ssoe, and completed the journey in 2niin 14see, but tired badly. Diabolo, Sandstream, and Los Angelos had an interesting gallop over a mile and a half. Loss Angelos, pulling hard, set a merry pace for a mile, when Sandstream moved up, and then Diabolo came with a nice run, and beat Los Angelos to the post bytwo lengths, Sandstream the same distance away. The mile was run in lmin 4.oscc, the full distance in 2min 39 2-ssec. Diabolo and Loss Angelos both performed well. Ingoda was fully extended over ten furlongs, the last nine of which were run in lmin 58 3-ssec. Bridge was given light work.

On Wednesday morning Boanerges did three furlongs in 38sec. Maori King beat Theodore over six furlongs easily in lmin losec. Bridge and Wimmera covered a mile and a quarter in 2min 13see.
