THE LICENSING BILL.

The second reading of the Licensing Bill was carried in the House of Representatives last night, almost without debate. The Bill is to be dealt with in Committee to-day, and it is here that the fight will take place. The - rime Minister last night practically promised to amend the Bill to provide that people who voted No-license need not necessarily vote Prohibition. As this is the crux .of the whole Bill, the decision of the House on the point will be a waited with considerable interest.
