COMMERCIAL.

MASTEKTON STOCK SALE REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and M<rcantilc .Agency Company, Ltd., report a fair yarding of sheep, mostly all classes being,represented. Rates -were well up to previous markets, with the exception of hoggets, these showing a decline all round. One or two lots failed to sell under the hammer, but wove placed privately, a clearance being made. In cattle we submitted a light catalogue, all lines changing hands at rates equal to those of previous sales. In pigs we offered upwards of forty, all selling, but prices were much easier, and owners had to reduce the reserves to make sales.

In hoggets, best ewes made 15s; others lis 8d; fat hoggets, 15s 9d; medium and small sorts, lis to 12s; shorn 2-tooth and fresh-mouth ewes, 10s ; owes, poor class, with small percentage of lambs, 13s; eows in forward condition, 80s; empty store cows and heifers, 50s to 60s; 2yr heifers, £2 12s Gd; vearlings, 425; bulls, £4 to £4 10s. Pigs.— Extra good wcaners, lis; medium, 12s; smaller sorts, 8s to 10s.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale in the Masterton yards yesterday, when they offered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. The entry was well above advertised numbers, and we are pleased to be able to report practically a total clearance, although bidding and prices was not so brisk as at previous sales. We quote as follows: Hoggets, lis 4d, 12s 6d, 13s 3d, to 14s; ewes and lambs, 16s 2d to 16s 7d; forward empty ewes, 14s 8d; i fat and forward ewes, in tho wool, j 18s. Cattle.—ls-months steers, £4; 15-months heifers, £2 18s to £3. PAHIATUA STOCK REPORT. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pahiatua sale of the Ist inst., in the Farmers' Association yards, as follows : We submitted an extra good yarding of both sheep and cattle to a moderate attendance. All classes of stock were in good demand, and we made practically a total clearance at late values. TARATAHI SALE. Mef-.srs Dalgety and Co., Limited, report having held their usual fortnightly sale in their Taratahi yards on Monday, 31st ult., when they offered a good yarding, well above advertised numbers, and are pleased to be able to report having held a good sale. The entry was practically all of cattle, and we had a total clearance. We quote as follows: Heifers, just calved, £4, £4 ss, £5, £5 16s; empty heifers, £3 3s to £3 12s; empty'cows, £3 to £3 8s; 2yr steers, £3 13s 6d to £4 16s; springing heifers, £5 to £5 13s; springing cows, late calvers, £3 18s 6d to £4 I 16s; yearling bulls, £3 to £4 ss; 3yr j old bulls, £4 os to £9 10s; yearling | heifers, £2 15s to £2 19s 6d : 2» to 3yr steers, £5 17s 6d.

JOHXSONVILLE STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph—Special to the Ago.) JOHXSONVILLE, Last Night, Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows:—We offered a good yarding of prime bullocks and sheep, which sold readily at late rates. Best bullocks, £lO to',£lo -ss; lighter, £9 15s to £9 17s Gd, and £9 10s to £9 12s Gd; vealers, £1 to 31s 6d; prime woolly wethers, 24s to 2os Id; prime woolly ewes, 23s 4tl to 23s Bd, and 24s 3d; good woolly owes, 21s Id; prime shorn wethers, 16s 4d to 16s 8d; prime shorn ewes, lis 4d to lis lid ; prime lambs, 12s to 13s 7d : small, 10s Gd to lis.
