A SERIOUS CHARGE.

MAN COMMITTED FOR TRTAL. A man named John William Taylor,who was recently arrested at'Featherston, was charged on remand in the Magistrate's Court at Masterton yesterday, before Mr L. G. ltcid, S.M., with indecently assaulting a girl eight years of age. The offence was alleged to have been committed in the house of the child's parents in Masterton. The case was heard with closed doors. After hearing the evidence, His Worship committed the accused, for whom Mr C. A. Pownall appeared, to take his trial at the criminal sitting of the Supreme Court, to be held in Wellington on November 14th. Bail was allowed in accused .€25 and two sureties of £25 each.
