DISTRICT NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondents.) CARTERTON. The local branch of the Wairarapa Egg Circle yesterday despatched 190 dozen eggs .to Wellington, and on Thursday servi a further 120 dozen, making 310 dozen for the week. Mr Wright, statienmaster, has returned from his annual holiday, and resumed duty yesterday. Mr Bennett, who has £been relieving, left by the afternoon train. .'lhere were five births, no deaths, and one marriage registered in Carterton last month. The local corps of the Salvation Army collected £220 in the district for the belt' Denial offering, being au increase of £75 on last year. Steady progress is being made with the Carterton swimming The outlet pipes have all been laid, and the trench filled in, and the formation of the bath is "now being proceeded with.
