ACCIDENT AT THE RACES.

TWO JOCKEYS INJURED,

An unfortunate accident occurred during the last race at the Masterton racecourse on Saturday afternoon When only a few strides from the winning post Awha and Comethup came down and their jockeys—H. Kirk and E. Lowe—were thrown heavily, Each of them sustained a fracture of the collar-bone, and a severe shaking. First aid was administered by Mr L. H. Lewis, and the sufferers were subsequently brought in to the Prince of Wales Hotel, where they are making satisfactory progress. The horses suffered very little injury.
