METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.

ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.

The Masterton. Methodist Church presented a very pleasing and attracI tive appearance yesterday, the occasion being the Anniversary Services of the Sunday School. Willing workers had spared no time and trouble in decorating the building with evergreens and flowers. Suspended from either wall at the end of the church was a pale green* streamer, on which, in white wadding were the words—"Sing with Happy Voices, for God Loves You." 'lhi?, intermingled with green arches and other decorations, gave the building a very pretty appearance, especially when the platform at the end was filled with the happy, smiling faces of some 200 chidren, at the various services. The singing by the children was of a special character, and Mr S. H. Ralph, the conductor, is deserving of great credit for the manner in which the various items were rendered. Mr P. Inns presided at the organ, and an orchestra of nine instruments also took part. The resident minister, the Rev. C. H. Olds, conducted the services on all three occasions. At the morning service Mr Olds spoke more to the parents, taking as his text, "Consider the Lilies." The afternoon service was devoted, specially to the children, and the address, taken from Pilate's words, "What I have Written I have Written," was of a very interesting nature, and closely followed by the children throughout. The evening service was for young people, and the sub ject, "Verification in Religion," was very ably dealt with by Mr Olds, j The attendances throughout the day were of a highly satisfactory character. In the evening, the church was taxed to its utmost capacity, great difficulty being found in seating the members of the congregation. To-night, in the church, the annual public meeting will be held, at which the anniversary hymns will be repeated. There will also be short addresses from the minister and officials of the Sunday School on the work of the past year, the secretary's and treasurer's reports will be read, and numerous recitations given by the children.'
