JMEVy YORK, October 29. ' The expressmen's strike at Long Island is spreading. Further riots has occurred, the strikers having attacked the strikebreakers.
EXPLOSIVES IN FRANCE,
Received October 29, 10 a.m. PARIS, October 28.
A considerable quantity of explosives was stolen from a railway wagcn in transit between Nantes and Verr.on.
■ MELBOURNE PLASTERERS. Received October 29, 10.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, October 29. The plasterers' strike continues. A large number of men are affected. It is reported that twenty five masters are paying the higher wages demanded.
