The attendance at the Strangers' Tea yesterday constituted a record, there being over one hundred persons present. Dr. Prior presided over the gathering, a special feature of which was the strong representation of the Ladies' Auxiliary, signifying the vital interest the Auxiliary take in the Association's welfare. The Rev. Lawrence Thompson, of Carterton, addressed the meeting after tea, taking as his subject Paul's words, "Whose lam, and whom I serve." The speaker emphasised the necessity of a strong and whole-hearted service. In a neat speech Mr D. B. Thomson referred to the.good work done by the ladies, moved that they be accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the practical support rendered the Strangers' Tea Committee. The motion was enthusiastically received by the members, and carried by acclamation. Mrs Blackman, President of the Auxiliary, suitably replied, and urged the members to continue their efforts in extending the Association's usefulness. After a solo had been contributed by Mr Charles lbbetson, the Rev. Thompson pronounced the Benediction. In the evening, a goodly number of people assembled at Solway Home, where the Rev. Thompson l delivered a helpful address on the "Burdenbearer. ''
