HOMING PIGEON CLUB.
CHRISTCHUKCH RACE
The members of the Masterton Homing Pigeon Club flew an old bird race from Christchurch on Thursday. The birds having arrived at the Southern City at JO o'clock, they were fed by Mr Kingsford and then liberated at 10.22 in fine weather, with an east wind blowing. '." On account of the storm between Rlenheim and Masterton the birds did not reach home on Thursday night, but came at intervals early in yesterday morning, • the winner timing in before seven o'clock. The following is the result, only seven out of fourteen members clocking in one bird each:—
"£Mr E. M. Flanagan's 'Appy Allie, llhrs 30mms, 1; Mr F. B. Kosson's The Brick, llhrs 37min9. 2; Mr W. Drake'B Silver Queen, llhrs 41mins, 3; Mr A. Miller"s Tally-ho, llhra 51mins. 4; Mr J. Dixon's Lady Lucy, llhrs 54mins, 5; Mr W. J. Hoar's Beetemall* llhrs 59mins, 6; Mi' R. Person's Clarissa, llhrss9| mins, 7.
The following are the points obtained in the main aggregate:—A. Miller 11, F. Rosson 9, J. Dixon 8, W. Hoar and W. Drake 6 each, E. Flanagan 5, and W. Gourley 2.
The next race is to be flown from Frankton Junction on Saturday next.
