PRINCE FRANCIS OT TECK.

RESULT OF AN OPERATION.

KING GEORGE AT THE DEATHBED. (Received Last Night, 5.50 o'clock.) LONDON, October 22. Prince Francis of Teck, brother to I Queen Mary, is dead. The cause of death was septicaemia following aji operation for the removal of a pleuritic effusion. Kino; George V. and many others were at the death-bed. The late Prince was an unobtrusive man, and was very popular in the Army. FUNERAL ON WEDNESDAY. Received This Morning, 12.25 o'clock. LONDON, October 23. j The funeral of the late Prince Francis of Teck will take place at Windsor on Wednesday. H.R.H. Prince Francis Joseph Leopold Frederick of Teck, K.C.V.0., D.5.0., was born at Kensington Palace, London, on 9th January, 1870. He was the second son of the late Duke and Duchess of Teck, and brother to the Queen of England. He was educated at Wellington College, and the Royal Military College at Sandhurst. He joined the First Dragoons in 1890, and acted as A.D.C. to the Officer Commanding at Quetta from 1896-97. He was appointed a Captain in the Egyptian Army in 1597, and was awarded a medal with clasps. He also served in the South African War, and was mentioned in despatches. His home was at Gre<?nmount, Clonsilla, Dublin, Ireland.
