AMUSEMENTS.
THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. An excellent series of pictures are being shown by Messrs Thompson and Jfayne at the Foresters' Hall to crowded houses. The films are varied and of general interest. "The Speed Trials of the Yarra," the f Australian torpedo destroyer shows the vessel at full speed in a somewhat choppy sea. "New York" gives a good idea of that great city, and a good view of Luna Park, which is perhaps the greatest and unique place of amusement in the world. A splendid film depicts Mons. Shnieder and Mdmlle. Marietta in a daringperformance with 22 lions. "Papinta," a good Indian story, proved one of the most popular subjects. "Dogs of all Nations" gives pictures of pretty welljall known varieties of dogs. The whole series is first-class, and should draw another large attendance at its last production tonight. The usual change'will appear on Thursday.
