STORM IN CUBA.
SEVERAL LIVES REPORTED LOST. (Received Last Night, 11.10 o'clock.) HAVANNA, October 18. A severe storm has swept over Cuba and the surrounding sea. The waves broke over the sea walls and flooded many houses, and a panic followed. The reports of the disaster are very meagre, but it is stated that several lives have been lost. The salvaging apparatus of the U.S. warship Maine, sunk in 1898, has been washed away.
