MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST.
MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust was held last evening, there being present Messrs T. Wagg, chairman, C. E. Daniell, T. B. Michell, E. G.' Eton, 0. C. Pragnell, H. C.Robinson, W. H. Jackson, K. Krahagen, and D. Caselberg. Mr B. A. Jones, architect, forwarded a statement concerning the work done at the Trust's new building in Queen street. —The action of Mr C. E. Daniell, in authorising •certain work in connection with the building, was confirmed. The Secretary of the Education Board notified that the tender of Messrs Rose and Mason had been accepted for fencing round the reserve on which the woodworking .room stands.
Mr J. C. Ewington advised that he was agreeable to the terms outlined by the Trust for the lease of a portion of Town Acre 67. Mr A. R. Bunny forwarded the lease between the Trust and the Education Board. The action of the Chairman m signing the leaiiie was confirmed.
A letter from G. Matheson, thanking the Trustees for their matriculalion grant. The fllunicipa] Brass Band intimated its intention of playing in the Park, and made application for its usual grant.—Mr Eton moved, and Mr Krahagen seconded, that last year's grant of £lO be made.—After some discussion, in which it was pointed out that the Band had not qualified for last year's grant, as it had not given the required twelve performances in the course of twelve months, an amendment was carried that the Chairman enquire into the matter and report.
An offer from the Vaccuum Cleaning Company to supply a plant was declined in the meantime.
A complaint from Mr H. Anderson, one of the Trust tenants, re water supply, was referred to the Repairs Committee. An application of the Kev. H. Watson for a refund of the rent of the Town Hall on account of the recent Mission, was granted. The matter of granting permission to construct a miniature rifle range on the reserve near the school was referred to the Chairman.
The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £lsl 12s lid. Accounts amounting to £B9 7s lOd were passed for payment.
