AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
TIMAEU, Last Night.
At the annual meeting of the local ! centre of the New Zealand Athletic Union to-day a good deal of discussion tpok place on the Union having taken over the control of cycling. Mr. Kennedy, who attended the Greymouth conference, gave an .explanation, which was accepted by the members, who had questioned the wisdom of the step. Opposition is anticipated from the' North Canterbury Centre of the League of Wheelmen, but the New Zealand Athletic Union is said to have a strong position, and could ignore the League.
