Mr. Lars Mattson is gazetted :; trustee of the Mauriceville cemetery. The Prime Minister, accompanied by Messrs. Allen, Scott ? and Malcolm, M.'s.±\, left Wellington on Thursday night on a visit to Central Otago.
The friends of Mr. Walter Perry, of Masterton, will be pleased to hear that his health, which has been greatly impaired for some time, has shown signs of improvement of late. Miss A. M. Bright, mistress of the Miki Miki (school, has been elected one of the representatives of the Wellington District Institute at the annual conference of the New Zealand Educational Institute to be held at Hokitika next January. A painfully sudden death occurred at Featherstou yesterday morning, Mrs. Busch, an old resident, passing away before medical aid could be summoned. Heart disease is supposed to have been the cause. The deceased lady leaves a large grownup family.
