SUPPOSED CLUE TO THE CULPRITS. GENERAL OTIS ARRESTED. (Received October 6, 8.10 a.m.) NEW YORK, October 5. The Los Angeles police announce the discovery of a cine to the dynamite outrage at the office of the Los Angeles Times. General H. G. Otis, proprietor of the Los Angeles Times, and a man named Chanler were arrested on a charge of criminally libelling a Labour leader, 'me alleged libel was published weeks ago. Otis, under arrast, attended the funeral of the stenographer who received the dictation of the libellous article. The stenographer died in the explosion. A launch, which is believed to have carried dynamite into Los Angeles, has been found in Oakland Estuary.
