MASTERTON FIRE BOARD.
QUARTERLY MEETING
The quarterly meeting of the Masterton Fire Board was held on Thursday afternoon, there being present Messrs O. Pragnell, J. C. Ewington, R. M. Simpson, Chas. Pearce, J. H. Pauling, and the secretary (Mr R. Brown). Leave of absence was granted to Mr J. Prentice. , Reports of several special meetings of the Board were read. The reports of the Fire Brigade for the quarter were received. Some discussion took place upon the question of appointing a permanent custodian at the new fire station. Mr Simpson pointed out that in other centres there was a man permanently at the station, and he thought this should be so m Masterton. He moved that the matter be referred to the i-ocal Committee for a report, the Board being of opinion that tnere shomu be a permanent custodian. The resolution was seconded by Mr Pearce and carried. A number of accounts were passed for payment. It Avas decided to procure some bucket pumps if they wore not already in hand.
