THOSE "DRY" AREAS.
The Dr. Findlay has proved to the public, by the gauge of figures, that the "dry" areas of New Zealand are not as "droughty" as some may suppose. Large quantities of liquor are being consumed in every No-license district. What the public would like to know, however, is whether the quantities consumed under No-license are as large as they were under License, whether drunkenness is as prevalent under the new order as under the old, and whether the social condition of the people is better under iNo-license than under License. Possibly the AttorneyGeneral will find means of supplying accurate data on these points. Everybody knows that No-license does not prohibit. But does it appreciably minimise the drink evil? That is-the question.
