WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES,

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., re-1 port:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, hides and tallow on Wednesday, when we offered 4000 sheepskins, 300 hides and calfskins, and a small quantity of wooi, horsehair and tallow. There was a good attendance of buyers, «nd competition was keen for all lots offered at last sale rates. Prices realised were as follows: vVool—Crutchings, bale lots, s|d to 6|d, bag lots 5Jd to 63; dead wool, 7|d; crossbred, 7d to B£d. Skins—Fine .crossbred, BJd; crossbred, 7Jd to 7|d; half wools, sAdto 7&d; quarter wools, 3£d to sd; dead crossbred, 6£d to Ggl; hoggets, 7d to 7£d; hoggets, 6|d; interior and broken hoggets, 6Jd to 6Jd; damp crossbreds, 6s 2d; damp dead. 53. Hides—Ox, sdto'sJd; cow. 4£d to 5Jd; yearling, sd; calf, best, B|d; medium 1 calf, 7£d; inferior ■calf, 3Jd. Tallow—Casks, 27s 6d; tins, 23s 6d to 23s 9d; kegs, 22s 6d; sacks, 36s 3d. Horsehair, Is Sd per lb. Our next sale will be held on November 16th.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., held their opening sale jesteiday, when they submitted a fairly representative j catalogue to buyers from Wellington ! and ether parts of the district. Competition was keen for all lots offered. Quotations are:—Wool—Crossbred fleece, in bags, 8d to B£d; bellies, in bags, to 5Jd; dead in bags, 6id to 7|d; crutchings, in hags, sJdto6d; crutchings, in bales, to 6d. Sheepskins—Crossbred full woolled, coarse, to 7fd; crossbred half woolled, 6£d to 6fci; crossbred hoggets, 7£d to 7gd; crossbred, dead, 6£d to 7d; crossbred, broken, 3d to 4|d; crossbred, green, 5a JlOd to 6s. hides—Only a poor selection offered, which sold well at from 4£d to s£d per lb for cow hides. Calfskins,sound from Ihi to B§d; faulty calf, 4£d to s|d. Horse hides, to 8s 6d each. Rabbitskins, to lid per lb. Tallow, in tins, to 23s 3d per cwt; rough fat, 15s 6d per cwt. Now receiving consignments for our nest sale on Wednesday, 16th November.

PAHIATUA STOCK SALE, Messrs D'algety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly stock sale in the Pahiatua F. A. yards. Owing, no doubt, to the boisterous day experienced, stock did not come forward to advertised numbers, nevertheless we offered a fair yarding of cattle, of which we made a total clearance. In sheep we only offered one line of 125 ewes and lambs, which were passed in under the hammer, but sold privately afterwards. We quote:—Yearling steers, 38s 6d to £2; empty heifers, £4 to £4 ss; springing heifers, £4 10, £5, to £5 10s; springing cows, £6 12s 6d to £7; ewes in lamb, 16s. Our next sale will be held on .Tuesday, 11th inst., in our Mangahao yards. ,

I TARATAHI SALE." Meisrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale in their Taratahi yards on Monday last, when they offered a yarding well above advertised numbers to a good and representative crowd. Competition was keen throughout, and we are pleaded to be able tu report a total clearance. We quole as follows:—Full mouth ewes with lambs, 13s 4d to 16s; empty ewes, lis 8d to 13a 6d; hoggets, 12a 9d to 15s 8d; smaller hoggets, 7s 6d to 10s; one extra good line of hoggets brought 17s 9d. Porkers, to 16a. Cattle—Spr nging cows, £7, £7 2s 6d to £7 10s; empty heifers, £3 83 to £3 12s; empty cows, £3, £3 2s; 2-year-old steers, £3 15s; yearling steers, £2 19s; one Ayrshire cross bull, £8; one Ayrshire Jersey cross, £8 15s.

KOPUARANGA SALE. Z Messrs/ Dalgety and Co., Ltd.; report having gheld a sale on account of R. D. McKenzie, Esq., and other vendora in their Kopuaranga.yards on Tuesday, 4th October, when all lots advertised came forward and met with a ready sale. We quote as follows:—Hoggets, 13a; empty ewes, to 10s lOd; springing cows, £5, £5 10s, £6 2s 6d to £8 2a 6d; cowa in milk, £i 2s 6d to £5; empty heifers, to £3 10s; yearling heifers, £2 sh; yearling steers $& 75.; 2 year old steers. £3 15s; steer calves, 30s; 3 year steers, £5 lis; one Shorthorn bull, £6; one yearling buil, £3; rjigs, to 5 30a 6d; one set harrows, £2 2s 6'd. '
