WEATHER FORECAST.
(By Telegraph—Press Association-.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follows:.—A westerly area of low pressure has extended its influences over the whole country, and northerly and westerly winds strong to gale have prevailed, with rain generally, heavy in night, and flooded rivers are reported in Westland. The barometer has fallen everywhere. Present indications are for westerly winds strong to gale in parts, and veering to southerly everywhere. The barometer will probably fall slowly for a short time everywhere, but a steady rise will probably follow after about sixteen hours. Showery and changeable weather will probably be succeeded by cold and stormy conditions with a rise in {he barometer.'
