AMUSEMENTS.
THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.
" The Foresters' Hall was full of merry children on Saturday afternoon, to witness the performance. The evening exhibition was given before an audience that taxed the seating accommodation to its utmost. The lengthy programme went without the slightest hitch, and judging by the loud and frequent applause it was thoroughly enjoyed by those present. Messrs Thompson and Payne have now given 297 night performances in Masterton, with two changes per week, which means 100 distinct programmes, and a total of 2,040,000 feet of film. This means that twelve million two hundred and forty thousand feet of cinematograph film has passed through the machine since the opening performance, not counting | matinees. To-nigHt another ten thousand feet will be added to this, and no doubt the enterprising firm of entreperieurs will add another to their long list of successes in popular picture programmes.
