THE WAIRARAPA RAILWAY.

The Minister for Railways has capitulated. He is very sorry that he has termed the Wairarapa trunk railway a "branch line," and he is willing to make reasonable amends. The announcement he made on Friday night that he is willing r<, revert to an early morning train from Masterton to Palmerston North, will be welcomed, and the hope will be entertained that he may go a little further bv-and-by. Meanwhile, the district is grateful for even small mercies.
