FERNRIDGE SCHOOL CONCERT.
An overflowing attendance greeted the rise of the curtain on the occasion of the annua! concert given by pupils of the Fernridge School. The young folk acquitted themselves very creditably, their work bearing testimony to the efforts of their teachers to present a programme of interesting as well as instructive numbers. These youngsters should, indeed, be | the gainers by such a thorough pre- I j i paration. During an interval the I Chairman] of Committee, Mr Henry Evans, in appropriate terms eulogised the staff of the school and gave expression to the Committee's and headmaster's appreciation of the con- j tinued hearty co-operation given them by the residents of tha district. After the concert a darce was held on a specially prepared floor, music being supplied by Miss Itsgulden, of Masterton. Cummins; gun drill, i Fernridge Junior Cadets; action j Eong, "East and West," infants; i dialogue, "Beauty," Misses Connie Welch, Marjorie Gawith, Martha Evans, and Master Ross St. John.
